Full Day Trek M’Hamid — Sidi Naji — Bousnina

Day 1 — Into the Desert: M’Hamid to Bousnina Dunes

After meeting your full trekking team and completing final preparations, you set off on foot into the Sahara. The route passes through Sidi Naji and leads deep into the desert toward the dunes of Bousnina. A picnic lunch is served amid the stunning open landscape before you arrive at camp — pitched in the heart of the dunes as the sun begins to fall.

Day 2 — The Howling Dune: Bousnina to Erg Ezzahar

An early start as you push further into the desert toward the legendary Erg Ezzahar — the Howling Dune. This is the centrepiece of your Trek 4 Days Explore Desert Mhamid With Camels, a vast and dramatic dune field that very few travellers ever reach.

Day 3 — Deeper into the Sahara: Erg Ezzahar to Erg Ait Ounire

The third day continues your exploration of the desert’s incredible landscapes, moving between dune fields as the camel caravan keeps pace beside you. The rhythm of the trek — walking, resting, eating, watching — becomes its own meditation. A picnic lunch midway through the day, then onward to Erg Ait Ounire where camp is set for the night and dinner is prepared by your team.

Return Day Erg Ait Ounir — Rass Nkhill — M’Hamid

Day 4 — The Return: Erg Ait Ounir to M’Hamid

After breakfast, begin the return journey to M’Hamid via Rass Nkhill. On arrival at the Oasis Camp you are rewarded with a hot shower, a proper dinner, and a final night in comfort before the journey ends. The next morning, after breakfast, you transfer back to the M’Hamid Center and say farewell to your guides and camel team — the desert will stay with you long after the journey is over.

Erg Ezzahar — known as the Howling Dune for the wind that sings through its sands — is one of the most remote dune fields in the Moroccan Sahara. Accessible only on foot or by camel from M’Hamid, it remains largely untouched by mainstream tourism and retains a raw, elemental quality that is increasingly rare. The best seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when daytime temperatures are ideal for long-distance trekking. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the ideal seasons — comfortable walking temperatures during the day and cool, clear nights. Summer heat in this part of the Sahara can exceed 45°C and is not recommended for multi-day trekking. Winter is possible with proper warm layers.
